Our Sourcing, Buying and Technical teams work together to ensure we have the right supplier partnerships in place to secure long term supply of our raw material of the right quality and specification.

What we do
Sourcing

Responsible for ensuring we can source appropriate raw material from the global supply base. They identify and develop new sources and look for innovation. They are a source of expertise on responsible sourcing, customer expectations and industry standards.

Suppliers
Supplier assurance

Approves new suppliers and builds partnerships with existing suppliers. They audit and work with suppliers to ensure they can meet our technical and quality standards, and are focused on continuous improvement in Quality, Sustainability, Service, Innovation and the effective Management of Risk.

Sustainability
Sustainability

Responsible for developing Lyons Seafoods Sustainability Policy to ensure that it meets all customer, regulatory and company sustainability standards and performance, both within Lyons and cross the Supply Base

Buying
Buying

Tracks the global market, proactively managing buying strategy to ensure adequate supply. Ensures that all purchasing is from approved sources and to agreed specifications. Responsible for optimising stock levels, leading the tendering process and monitoring supplier performance.

Our Operations team work together to plan and organise the flow of materials through our factory to enable the safe and efficient production of finished product for our customers.

What we do
Supply Chain

The team is responsible for planning and organising the transfer of materials from suppliers through to our customers. This includes capacity and production planning, logistics, storage and distribution.

Production
Production

Our production team are responsible for efficiently and safely processing raw material into finished goods for our customers.

Engineering
Engineering

Our engineers are responsible for commissioning and maintaining our increasingly sophisticated equipment. They work on the machines in our factory, with hand tools in the work shop and on projects aimed at continuous improvement.

Hygiene
Hygiene

Our hygiene team ensure the cleanliness of the food equipment and facilities, critical to the production of a safe product.

Technical
Technical

The technical team perform a wide range of activities from working in our laboratory, using analytical tools to test chemical and microbiological properties to ensuring the technical integrity of manufacturing procedures to managing our quality systems and providing advice and expertise on technical standards and issues.

The Commercial team work together with the customer to understand the market and source, produce and merchandise products that excite consumers and optimise the businesses capabilities and resources.

What we do
New product development

This team works closely with the sales team and the customer to ensure the product catalogue is developed to meet customer requirements and business objectives. They provides expertise on culinary trends and project manage the launch cycle from concept to launch

Sales
Sales

The sales team develop long term profitable business with the major food retailers and food service customers, by acting as the key contact on all account issues from pond to plate.

Marketing
Marketing

The team Investigates, analyses data and informs on the UK market trends for seafood. They interpret and translate the data and work in partnership with the Sales team, NPD and retail customers to deliver consumer-focused / customer tailored category plans.

Forecasting
Sales forecasting

Produces the sales forecast in conjunction with the Sales team, monitoring and analysing weekly and daily sales trends and adjusting the forecast where appropriate. They communicate medium and long term sales and customer requirements to the Supply Chain Department.

What we do
IT

The IT team sources, manages and supports the Major Software Applications and IT Infrastructure in the business. They work with the business to identify IT and system solutions to business issues as well as supporting end users and managing suppliers.

Finance
Finance

The finance team is responsible for ensuring the financial controls in the business are robust and meet statutory requirements. They support the business in using financial information to control costs and make business and investment decisions and reports on the businesses operational, commercial and financial performance.

HR
HR

The HR team provides expertise on people and organisational issues and supports the business to maximise the contribution and effectiveness of its people resources.
