Lyons Support Local Schools!
Lyons employees have been supporting local schools with activities for year 10 and 11 students helping to prepare them for the world of work!
Karen and Steve from the HR team visited Kingdown School in Warminster this week to do mock interviews with some of their year 10 students. They were very impressed with the high calibre of students who had prepared a CV and covering letter to apply for a pretend job. Karen commented- "They had put so much effort in and they took the process very seriously. On the whole I was very impressed with the students. I can see they have bright futures ahead of them".
In addition Lyons welcomed 4 work experience students for a week, three from Kingdown and one from Matravers in Westbury. Steve, our Learning & Development Coordinator, had prepared a week long programme to give them a taste of all the departments across the business. As each student had different interests Steve also arranged for a one to one session in their chosen area. So Angharad visited IT, Brittany spent time in the Finance Department, Tamara went to our Marketing team and Hannah spent time in our micro lab. Steve commented "it was a real
pleasure to spend time with the students, seeing their confidence grow throughout
the week. I hope their knowledge of our business and products gives them a
stepping stone into their chosen careers and they continue to experience the
delights of seafoodâ€.
